“I believe that this is the desire of all of us and the desire of all the inhabitants of this country and the employees of EPS, and it is my job and responsibility, together with the people who will make up the SB to implement that vision. This will not be possible if we continue to work as it has been done for the past 30 years, and therefore our goal was not to achieve a reform only on paper, but to achieve a change that will be evident through a higher level of responsibility, depoliticization and results which represent a benchmark for the entire modern world.
The state, as the Government of Serbia has repeatedly claimed, remains the owner of EPS and it is the one that defines what it wants from EPS, but also from this Supervisory Board, which will take over the implementation of our energy strategy in part," Djedović said at a press conference in the Government of Serbia.
She reminded that when adopting the new EPS Statute, the state said that it would deal with substance, not form; that it wanted to improve the work methods and establish a clearer division of responsibilities, that it would free the management of EPS from political influence, and strive to find the best professionals from Serbia and the world.
“Our strategic decision is to work with Norway, so we have three out of seven members who came from their energy systems. We analysed the functioning model in Norway, where energy companies are state-owned with professional management, they are energy giants, they supply energy from renewable sources, but also gas for a significant part of Europe," said Djedović..
The new members of the Supervisory Board are Oluf Ulseth, Vladan Živanović, Per Sanderud, Dejan Ostojić, Hilde Bakken, Igor Petković and Miodrag Ranković.
"Now I am certain that it is clear that things are seriously changing in EPS and that this will be a role model of professionalization of management in the energy sector, not only in Serbia, but also in the region. "I am proud of the result of the selection of SB members and I am grateful to them for accepting to be part of the transformation of EPS and of the new era for EPS that is starting now and which will inevitably be full of challenges," said Djedović.
