The Sector for International Cooperation and European Integration performs tasks related to: drafting, harmonizing and concluding interstate documents that create a state-legal framework for establishing and developing international cooperation in the field of mining and energy; monitoring and analyzing international legal instruments; drafting, harmonizing and concluding cooperation programs and protocols, as basic documents that define specific areas of international cooperation in the field of mining and energy; coordinating and preparing the ratification, or accession, of international agreements; coordinating the implementation of multilateral agreements and cooperating with the secretariats of multilateral agreements for the purpose of their implementation; monitoring international policy in the field of mining and energy and proposing measures and activities for harmonizing national priorities and accessing international cooperation; defining priorities, forms, contents and modalities of international cooperation, as well as monitoring their implementation; coordinating the preparation of platforms for the appearance of representatives of the Ministry at international meetings, meetings of the contracting parties to multilateral agreements in the field of mining and energy; cooperating with the Energy Community, the International Renewable Energy Agency, the Energy Charter and the Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission as international institutions in the field of energy; managing the preparation of documents in the negotiation process for EU accession within the Negotiating Chapter "Energy"; developing strategic documents for EU accession in the field of mining and energy; initiating and coordinating activities to identify needs for international assistance in the mining and energy sectors; monitoring and analyzing international legal instruments and EU policies; coordination of the harmonization of laws and other regulations with EU regulations and other international regulations in the field of mining and energy; monitoring of the EU acquis from the scope of the Ministry; preparing opinions on draft laws and other regulations prepared by other ministries, special organizations and other bodies and organizations, i.e. regulations adopted by holders of public authority in accordance with the law; implementation of EU pre-accession projects, as well as other tasks from the scope of the Sector.
The Decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia on the designation of authorities, persons and bodies for the management of EU pre-accession assistance programmes under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III) for the period 2021-2027 designates the authorities, persons and bodies for the establishment of EU pre-accession assistance programmes under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III) for the period 2021-2027. This Decision designates the Ministry of Mining and Energy - Sector for International Cooperation and European Integration, as the Managing Authority in the Structure for the Management of Multiannual IPA III Pre-accession Assistance Programmes under the Operational Programme for the Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity.
