Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Djedović Handanović, signed documents today, in the presence of the Presidents of Serbia and France, Aleksandar Vučić and Emmanuel Macron, regarding cooperation between the two countries in the peaceful use of nuclear energy in Serbia and critical mineral resources.

The first document, signed during the official visit of the President of the Republic of France to the Republic of Serbia, pertains to assessing the potential for developing a peacetime nuclear energy program in Serbia.
"Based on the Memorandum with the French company EDF from April on a long-term dialogue in the energy transition process, the document we signed today outlines further steps in our cooperation, particularly in the exchange of professional knowledge and experience, as well as the provision of technical assistance to find the best solutions for the potential use of nuclear energy in Serbia," said the Minister.
The second document signed is the Declaration of Intent on Partnership and Cooperation in the Research and Exploitation of Critical and Strategic Mineral Resources.
"France has a highly developed mining sector, and the purpose of this document is to facilitate, above all, the exchange of knowledge and experience, with the aim of strengthening capacities in our country and moving toward achieving the highest standards and best practices in mining, geology, and environmental protection," said Djedović Handanović.
